Folder Protect

  1. In the folder to be protected, run fullpath.php and copy last line 'AuthUserFile ...' to the clipboard
  2. Copy this 'AuthUserFile..' into .htaccess [Use Edit in WS_FTP and overwrite existing entry]
  3. Generate username and Apache-ready SHA-1 encrypted password    Password generator
  4. Put the username/password combination in the .htpasswd file [Use Edit in WS_FTP]

  5. NB You can see http://kesland.info/ephemera as an example BUT be aware that the lister has been modified to NOT list .htaccess and .htpasswd files
